Bizzare Story of Mr. Grześlak

Lef! | Installation, video work | The Mondriaanhuis Museum | Group exhibition | Amersfoort | 2022

In 2022, The Mondrian House Museum celebrated Mondrian’s 150th birthday by organizing an art exhibition, Lef!, featuring five selected artists who curated and presented their works. As one of the participating artists, I showcased a piece that blended reality with a touch of fiction—where humor and drama intertwined seamlessly.

At first glance, the scene appeared cheerful and static, but upon closer inspection, it invited deeper curiosity, raising more questions than answers. What is really happening here? Subtle, mysterious clues embedded in the visual language guided the observer into a world of absurdity, tension, and alienation, gradually unraveling the story. A specially designed booklet accompanied the installation, helping viewers navigate the unfolding narrative, revealing both the plot and the characters piece by piece.

Participants of the exhibition : Hannah Meijer, Boukje Kemper, Marloes Roeper, Monika Nowak, Tian Teng
